21st March 2004 Windsurfing: Worthing Wind Direction: wsw Wind Stength: 25mph Surf / Sea State: Lumpy with some waves Air Temperature: 11 Sea Temperature: 7 Weather: Eveything Max Speed: Distance Covered: Well it was always goign to be a late start due to the HW@1200. Got stuck in major ammounts of traffic (bl00dy mothers day visitors!!). Arrived about 2pm and it looked great. Sun, wind, waves, the lot. Rigged 5m to begin with but way overpowered for me especially on the outside - came in and rigged 4.5 - just about right. Some real nice faces allowing some steep high jumps which was nice. Still cant get the frontside riding. There was a huge tidal curent pulling you along the beach and made it hard to waterstart if you got caught on the inside as the board kept flipping upside down. Tide went out and the waves lost thier power. Called it a day at about 430pm - at about the same time as huge burst of rain and hail (painful). I was stuck on the beach struggling with carrying my kit. All in all a top day especially with the sun out. Gutted tobe back at th office. |
